Award-winning Catholic education
Nestled in the heart of Taylors, South Carolina, Prince of Peace Catholic School has been a beacon of academic excellence and spiritual growth since 2002. As the primary apostolate of Prince of Peace Catholic Church, our school collaborates with families to offer children a rigorous curriculum that promotes intellectual formation and virtue development, immersed in the teachings of the Catholic faith.
We take great pride in our students’ engagement in the local community. Through various service projects and outreach initiatives, our students learn the value of giving back and making a positive impact in the world around them. At Prince of Peace Catholic School, we shape young minds to become responsible global citizens.
Throughout the year, our school embraces cherished traditions and organizes events that foster a strong sense of unity and camaraderie among students, families, and staff. These moments of celebration and togetherness become cherished memories that endure beyond graduation.
Safety and well-being are of paramount importance to us. We maintain a secure and supportive environment where children feel safe to explore, learn, and grow under the guidance of our experienced and caring educators.
At Prince of Peace Catholic School, we believe that each child is a unique gift, and our mission is to nurture their potential and prepare them for a future filled with hope and purpose. We welcome you to join our warm and vibrant community, where faith, knowledge, and values converge to create a bright future for all.
Four Marks of Prince of Peace School
Intentional Catholicism
We don’t happen to be Catholic. We breathe Catholic. Prince of Peace School is the principal apostolate of Prince of Peace Catholic Church for the transmission of the Catholic faith and the building up of a Catholic culture formed by worship, the quest for truth and in communion with the universal Church. Heaven, not this world, is the goal; formation for beatific vision. The heart of our school life is Holy Mass on Sundays as a parish family, and the center of the academic week is Holy Mass on Wednesdays as a school community.
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me”. John 14.6
Intellectual Rigor
The school blends the best of the old and the best of the new with a classical approach to the humanities and an innovative approach to the sciences. The curriculum is designed for children who want to be challenged by a rigorous curriculum and hard work. We look for growth by applying a disciplined approach to learning, and quantifiable results by testing and evaluation. The children are immersed in the Western intellectual tradition while simultaneously being open to creative and groundbreaking approaches to learning.
And he said to them, “Therefore every scribe who has been trained for the kingdom of heaven is like a master of a house, who brings out of his treasure what is new and what is old.” Matthew 13.25
Human Flourishing
Every child is made in the image and likeness of God, and the school is a ministry to facilitate the unleashing of each admitted child’s potentialities. Respect for the child and integrating each child into a community of virtue and emotional intelligence helps build leaders for the future. Discreet accommodations and extra help for children who may struggle with certain aspects of the curriculum are provided in the context of a dialogue with the family. Truth, beauty and goodness inspire children to be who they are created by God to be; they are not just numbers, test results, or technocratic robots.
“The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: He shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Those that be planted in the house of the LORD Shall flourish in the courts of our God”. Psalm 92. 12-15
Authentic Community
Our school is made of families from an incredibly diverse mosaic of ethnic, cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds who are selected after an admissions process because they are mission fit for authentic community in the school and church family. Families develop friendships and support networks that last far into the days when the profile of the graduate is reached at the consummation of an academic and cultural journey with us. Care for each other is inculcated at every level of the experience. The school is not an institution but an extension of the home, the domestic church.
“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.” —Colossians 3:12-14
